One challenge we are dealing with is the antique construction at our installation site. The coffee shop is housed in a building built in the first decade of the last century. 'When 2 x 4's were two by four' is becoming a popular phrase. Beefier ceiling joists (3 x 12's approx.) are bonus for us, but where are those pesky guys? 16 oc it seems, but with no blue prints, we'll have to go exploring...

Thanks to Chad and Therese, we've got an accurate idea of where we can hang the piece now. Our increasingly serpentine plan is going to have to cross those joists across limited spans at a minimum number of points. One step closer...
